About Map For Us
Map For Us is a location-sharing app for families and small teams, made by AEVORIS CLOUD LLP in Ahmedabad, India. It shares where people are, their messages and their SOS alerts with the people they choose, and it encrypts all of it on the phone before it is sent, so the company that runs the service stores it but can’t read it. It works on iPhone, Android phones, Apple Watch, Wear OS, Android Auto and the web, and is coming to the App Store and Google Play.
Descriptions
Short
Location sharing, chat and SOS for families and teams, locked on your phone before it is sent, so we can’t read it.
Long
Map For Us shares your location with the people you choose, and locks it on your phone before it is sent. We store it, but we can’t open it.
A circle gets a live map with each person’s battery, speed and how recent their position is; alerts when someone arrives at or leaves a saved place; one-tap check-ins, and an SOS that alerts the circle with your position; Walk with me and a safety timer for getting home, and crash check while you drive; drives with a driving score; and a chat with photos, voice notes and files. For family who live alone there are wellbeing checks and medication reminders. The Team plan adds shifts, safety check-ins, roll call, hours on site and verified visits for businesses with people out at sites.
There is no email address, phone number or password: an account is a key made on your phone, and a recovery code you write down brings it back on a new one. You choose how exactly each circle sees you, from your exact spot to check-ins only, and you can pause sharing or leave a circle at any time.
Map For Us is not an emergency service.

What end-to-end encryption means here
Locations, saved places, names, photos, messages and alerts are encrypted on the phone with a key that only the phones in a circle hold. Our server stores the result and has never held that key, so we can’t read it, and there is no escrow or reset that would let us. The exception is what people write to our support team, which we store readable so we can answer. Encryption doesn’t hide everything: we still see which accounts are in which circle, which devices are theirs and when something was sent, and the timing of uploads shows when a phone starts and stops moving, though not where. Google, which draws the map, sees which area the map is showing. A circle has one key at a time, so anyone who obtains it can read what was sealed under it; someone removed from a circle keeps what they already saw; and anyone holding an unlocked phone holds its keys.
