Map For Us — terms of service
Effective date: 17 October 2026
Applies to: the Map For Us app for iOS and Android, and the Map For Us web client, operated by AEVORIS CLOUD LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India ("we").
1. What you are agreeing to
By creating an account, joining a circle, or using the app, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Map For Us on your own. A person under 18 may use it only in a circle that their parent or lawful guardian invited them to, with that parent's or guardian's consent; the parent or guardian accepts these terms on their behalf and is responsible for that membership (privacy policy §12).
2. What the service is
Map For Us shares your location, messages, pictures and voice notes with the people in the circles you choose. Everything is encrypted on your device with a key that belongs to your circle. We store what we receive and deliver it; we cannot read it.
It is not an emergency service. Fall detection, crash check, SOS and every other alert here is best-effort: it depends on a phone that is on, charged, connected and permitted to run in the background, and the thresholds behind fall detection and crash check are estimates. If someone is in danger, call your local emergency number. The app can never be a substitute for that.
3. What you may not do
You may not use the app to:
- harass, threaten, stalk or abuse anyone, inside a circle or outside it;
- send content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit involving a minor, or that you have no right to share;
- track a person who has not chosen to be in a circle with you, or keep tracking one who has left;
- impersonate another person or another circle;
- interfere with the service, other people's accounts, or the encryption that protects them.
Everyone in a circle can see everyone in it, can leave at any time, and can block or report anyone.
4. Reporting, blocking, removal and suspension
Block anyone from their member page. It hides everything they send on your phone and stops their notifications. They are not told.
Report anyone, or any message, from their member page or by holding a message. A report goes to us as a support conversation with the reporter's own description — we cannot read the message itself, so the report carries what you tell us. We read every report.
Because we cannot read content, we cannot remove a message. What we can do, and will do when a report is upheld, is revoke the reported account's devices or delete the account, which stops it sending or receiving anything further. We may do that without warning where the conduct in §3 is clear. We act on reports as quickly as we can. A grievance is acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 7 days (§9).
If you believe your account was suspended in error, write to us at the address in §9.
5. Your content
Everything you send stays yours. You give us only what we need to deliver it: the right to store and transmit the ciphertext to the members of your circle. Because we cannot read it, we cannot moderate it, index it, or use it for anything else.
You are responsible for what you send and for the people you invite.
6. Accounts, devices and deletion
There is no password. Your account is a key on your device and a recovery code you wrote down. If you lose both, nobody — including us — can restore the account.
You can delete your account from Settings, or from https://www.mapforus.com/delete with your recovery code. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
7. Paying
Map For Us is a paid service. Plans are sold only through the App Store and Google Play, under the store's own terms of purchase; the web app sells nothing. Each plan's price, period and what it includes are shown in the app before you buy, in your currency, by the store.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, monthly or yearly, at the price shown, until you cancel them. The store charges your account. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings, or from You → Account & security → Plan → Manage in the app; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. On the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period to avoid the next charge.
- Free trials. Where a monthly or yearly family plan offers a free trial, it lasts 7 days and is available once per Apple or Google account. Unless you cancel before it ends, the subscription starts at the end of the trial and the store charges the plan's price.
- Two- and three-year plans are paid once, upfront, and do not renew.
- The person who owns a circle pays, and everyone they invite into it is covered while the plan lasts.
- Refunds are decided by the store you paid, under its own rules.
If a plan ends, nothing changes for thirty days; after that the circle stops accepting new positions and the app shows the plan screen in place of the circle, from which everyone in it can still raise an SOS (privacy policy, "If you pay us").
8. What we do not promise
The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, always deliver, or always be right about where someone is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the app, including for an alert that did not arrive.
Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
